Temporarily Roll Back of the site and pages

Ok Bad news, the site had got way too many bad pages with far too little useful content and hence I have decided to change the strategy. Less Pages with More Quality.

I am rolling back about 1000+ pages out of 2000 which are right now on the site and rebuilding content again. This time, Quality first!

India’s 5 Olympic Heroes

Well Olympics are about to complete as far as India is concerned with Only boxers left with hope it win any medals. Other than abhinav bindra, the rest all did very badly, most of them even failing to qualify for finals. Anyway so here are the 5 Heroes of Beijing Olympics as far as India is concered -

1. Abhinav Bindra - well, Abhinav Bindra has to be at No.1 as he did it what no one could do in the past 112 years of Olympics from India. He won a Gold Medal.

2 Saina Nehawal – 18 year old wonder girl, and NO we are not talking about Sania Mirza here. Saina Nehawal was always looking promising even before the olympics and certainly proved that. Did her best and lost due to small mistakes. Hope she win some medal in next olympics.

3. Akhil Kumar – Akhil Kumar was the first one of the 3 boxers who have made it to the quarter finals. He is looking very confident and hope can concert it into some medal.

4. Jitender Kumar – Jitender Kumar made it to the quarter final and still in contention of medal, if he won one more time.

5. Vijender Kumar – Vijender Kumar is another one who made it to the quarter finals, so 3 boxers from India are just 1 step away from medal. Not something which we had ever imagined of.

The list is obviously of no order, as the boxers can win gold medals (lets really hope so).

India Got Gold in Olympics !!!

Just got the news that Abhinav Bindra has Won a gold medal in Beijing Olympics. Yay! also Saina Nehwal has reached into quarter finals. Les hope she goes on to win atleast one medal.

lets see where can we finish at, I am expecting India to win atleast couple of more medals.

On the side note, India is about to lose 3rd test match again sri lanka.

India’s Best Small Cars – A Comparison

So the site finally seems to have decent number of Cars related Articles, /Yay/

And since I can’t make such posts on the site, so let me put one liners about them here. Specially about small sized cars What is what! Huh,

Tata Nano - I know I know, its not launched yet, but well with so much over hype, why not have an article on it too. Though this car do remind me of Air Deccan review. A person was complaining on a forum that why Air Deccan sucks and how bad the services are. The reply was, “if you expect to travel in Rs 3 by plane, just consider your self lucky, You get what you paid for”. Will reedit this post in 2010

By the way, a bad news – I don’t think we will be touching 2800 Articles by the end of this month More on it later….

July Complete – Plan for August

So July has completed and the site has crossed 1500+ Articles which seems to be a good thing but the bad thing is almost 70% of them are of very poor quality.

The whole Engineering Colleges section seems to be in total mess. So I guess this month will completely go to fix that.

I can see people making comments on the site (which is a good thing, ALWAYS)

Target for August -
1. Pending Broadband + MF articles
2. Finishing Top Engineering Colleges (many were left)
3. Hotels
4. TV/Entertainment
5. Something..
6. Something..
= 2800+ by August End

Lets see how it goes!

Moving Slowly but Firmly

Ekikrat is moving slowly but firmly in right direction. The site seems to have good content now (the one on Cars in just too good though I have to put images in it and to fine tune it)

The number of members are also about to touch 100! though yahoo is still delivering mails into spam folder (Reason #628194, WHy yahoo mail is NOT better than gmail, zimbra or no zimbra)

Anyway this will remain like for next 2 months atleast as its not my priority. I have some other better plans on how to handle this!

Though not a Great fan of squidoo, still just created a page on it here to test few things (some nice features they have added by the way).

Preview of new theme and some more changes

I am still working on some finer aspects of the theme (damm Opera and IE) but here is a preview in Firefox (looks nice)

Its just chance I got the colors right (considering I have a very poor taste of color sense) .

On side note, The site has touched 1250 Articles (Yay!) and there has been good number of Cars Articles too got added. Lets see we can cross 1500 by the end of this Month or Not.

All the Articles can be browsed through Browse Link too as the menu is in Javascript.

Got a New theme

After wasting so much time, trial and error, I eventualy managed to finish the final theme. The earlier 2 themes were just not looking good. It was a mistake to use bad themes for so long and than trying to make them look good. I spent way too much time in making them look good instead of just dropping them.

Now the site look way better, though I need to fix the logo thing. Geez, Opera is making it look pretty bad (though FF and IE are fine).

Goals for coming Days – Total Focus on Content.
